Living Around the New River Gorge

All things being equal, quality of life should be the deciding factor when choosing a place to live, grow a business and grow a family. So, why here? Much of the historic New River Gorge Region lies on a plateau at roughly 2000 ft in altitude between the Allegheny Front and the greater Appalachian Range. The area experiences four distinct seasons with warm summers and cold winters.  Millions of tourists seeking outdoor adventure, small town experience, and exploration of rich human and natural history journey to the Gorge every year. If you do not know this place in southern West Virginia, take a moment to look around.

Due to its location, the area is host to a plethora of outdoor adventure sports. The New River Gorge Region is an international destination for both whitewater and rock climbing. Take your family on a challenging, scenic mountain bike ride in the afternoon, then go to a Mountain Stage Performance in the evening. Tamarack offers a huge selection of local artisans' wares and cultural events. Maybe you just want to get out for a hike during the peak rhododendron bloom along the New River Gorge. The mountains will be alive with color! There's no end of activities here in the New River Gorge Region of the Mountain State.
