Summers County, with a population of 13,017, is ranked 40th in size in the state.  The City of Hinton is the county seat.  The recent economic revitalization of the historic town of Hinton with mid-level technology industry growth is a model for rural towns across the country.

Summers County is the quieter side of the New River Gorge Region. The clear running Bluestone, Greenbrier, and New Rivers plus Bluestone Lake make this bucolic county a tourism destination. There's plenty of beautiful mountain scenery to take in, and you'll never tire of the views.
