Small Business Development Centers

The West Virgina Development Office can provide all of the information and paperwork necessary to legally open a new business. You will be placed in touch with a contact at either the Small Business Development Center in Beckley or Summersville. All counseling is delivered by appointment at absolutely no charge. Counseling can involve preparation of business plans, evaluation of business ideas, development of marketing strategies, cash flow analysis, financial projections, and loan packages. In addition, training workshops and seminars for business owners and employees as well as prospective business owners are offered throughout the region at low cost to participants.

 

The Women's Business and Training Center

The Women's Business and Training Center is committed to developing leadership, independence and entrepreneurship for the Women of West Virginia. One-on-one counseling is offered by appointment and at no charge to existing business owners and women thinking about going into business. The Center also offers a wide range of training at low cost to educate and empower women to make informed decisions about business ownership. The WBC offers monthly orientations about services available through the Region 1 WorkForce Women's Business Center and the Small Business Development Center.


Region 1 Workforce

Region 1 Workforce WV effectively connects businesses to qualified labor and employee training opportunities.  The agency also provides intensive career couseling and placement for job seekers.

 

Entrepreneurship Alliance

Entrepreneurship Alliance caters to all of your business development needs. By working inside business communities, EAI nurtures and develops the region entrepreneurial spirit and offers invaluable resources to foster entrepreneurial development. Entrepreneurship Alliance offers diverse support to existing and new businesses. The Alliance can help you develop collaborative partnerships, coordinate access to resources and entrepreneurial support, coordinate education and training resources, and build mentoring opportunities with existing entrepreneurs and businesses.
