Raleigh County, with a population of 79,357, is the 6th largest county in the state. The City of Beckley is the county seat and largest municipality. The county is a transportation gateway for the New River Gorge Region and provides a convenient commercial airport offering daily flights to Washington, DC. It also serves as a hub of commerce in southern West Virginia. Raleigh County boasts Grandview National Park. From mild but spectacular hiking, to extreme whitewater kayaking and mountain biking, the park offers a variety of adventure outlets. It is also home to Theatre West Virginia, outdoor dramas presented under the stars for nearly one-half century. Burning Rock Off-Road Park is the hottest off road destination in southern West Virginia. Get your permit, visit the gear shop and head for the trailhead for an unforgettable ride.
