Wolf Creek Park
Wolf Creek Park is a 1,064 acre mixed-use business park with manufacturing, retail, residential, educational and recreational uses. Phase 1 to develop the first 300 acres is fully funded with construction scheduled to begin in the fall 2005.
Fayette County Wastewater Treatment Plan
Funded through a direct appropriation from Representative Nick Rahall, this plan will provide resource based treatment options for the entire county. The Plan will be completed September 30, 2005.
River Ridge Estates
This 80-unit upscale housing development overlooking Kanawha Falls was approved for zoning in 2005.
Land Resources - Roaring River
This 2,200 unit upscale housing project overlooking the New River Gorge is in planning stages.
New River Land Company
This 400 unit upscale housing project overlooking New River Gorge is in planning stages.
National Guard Armory and Military Processing Center
The new center, located at Glen Jean, is scheduled to open in August of 2005.
Regional Water Plant and Distribution System
Begun in 1997, the project has reached nearly $70 million in investment. Phase 3A projects approved for technical feasibility and now seeking extensions will serve an additional 450 customers.
Page-Kincaid Wastewater Extension
Funded through USDA and SCBG, the project will add several hundred new customers to the Page-Kincaid Public Service District.
Kilsyth Wastewater Treatment Extension
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2005 for extension of wastewater treatment to communities of Kilsyth and Price Hill. The project which also includes plant upgrades to the Mount Hope treatment plant are funded through U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Small Cities Block Grant and West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection.
Coal Heritage Highway Extension
The plan is being developed to extend the Coal Heritage Highway into Fayette County to include parts of U.S. Route 19, WV 16, WV 60 and WV 82.
Foodland
Foodland will open a new location in the former Kroger building at the Johnson Square Shopping Center in Gauley Bridge during June 2005.
Wal-Mart
Wal-Mart will open a new super center location along US Route 19 in Fayetteville. The 184,000 square foot facility will open in the spring of 2006.
Lowe's
Lowe's will open a new 94,000 square foot facilty adjacent to the new Wal-Mart location in Fayetteville. Completion of the project is planned for the fall of 2005.
Foodland
In June 2005, Foodland opened in Gauley Bridge replacing the Krogers operation that closed in 2003.
